Blencarn Village HallAvailable to hire for parties, functions, clubs, groups and societies
Situated alongside the picturesque green in the village of Blencarn with the backdrop of Cross Fell, highest point on the Pennines, the Hall is easily accessible and ideal for small private functions providing all the necessary elements to make your function a success. 

Originally the village school, this attractive building was extended and fully modernised in 1999 with the help of lottery and EU funding.  It is capable of catering for 30 people seated at tables, up to a maximum of 50.  There is easy access throughout.  You may provide your own catering or if required we are able to suggest a caterer familiar with the facilities.

Skirwith Village Hall.
The Village Hall is available for private hire, parties, social functions, clubs and societies. The Small Room is suitable for meetings and gatherings of up to 30 people while the Hall will seat up to 100 people and is also suitable for a range of indoor activities such as dancing, bowling, table tennis and badminton. Staging, tables and chairs, crockery, cutlery and wine glasses are available to accommodate most events. To discuss your particular event, contact Kathryn Thompson on 01768 88234

Recycling
There are three recycling areas in the parish.  In Culgaith it is situated opposite the Recreation field, in Blencarn by the village hall and in Skirwith by the bus shelter.  All three collect paper and card, glass bottles and jars, cans, textiles and foil.  Plastics can be recycled at the Culgaith centre.

New BAG & BOX SCHEME
As of Monday 2 July 2012 the Greenbox kerbside recycling scheme provided by Eden District Council will include all households in Eden, to allow everyone to recycle cans, glass jars and bottles, paper and card and a welcome addition of plastic bottles and containers from their homes. A Garden Waste Scheme operates in Culgaith with collections every fortnight (monthly in the winter). Positive Recycling operate a fortnightly village garden skip in Skirwith.
